Jacquemus or Jacquefu

A Brief History 

Jacquemus is a French brand founded by Simone Porte Jacquemus in 2009. His collections features usage of asymmetric designs, oversized pieces, and embodies a sense of freedom within his designs.

During Spring Summer 2018, Jacquemus debuted the Le Chiquito bag. This bag was an overnight success and heavily influenced the now popular mini-handbag trend. As a result we have noticed an influx of counterfeits in the market. This article aims to educate our readers on how to authenticate the Le Chiquito handbag in three simple ways.

Three ways to authenticate the Jacquemus Le Chiquito 

Using the black Le Chiquito as a reference, the beige embossed croc is significantly larger and disproportionate in comparison to the black Le Chiquito.

The handle size, shape, and placement on the beige croc is incorrect. The handle should be perfectly curved, proportionate to the body of the bag, and placed relatively close to the stitching on the flap.

 Hardware 

Using the black Le Chiquito as a reference, the hardware should be matted, and thick. The hardware on beige croc is shinny, and thin.

Using the black Le Chiquito as a reference, the hardware placement on the beige bag is misplaced. The placement should be towards the middle of the bag, not towards the top. 

Dustbag 

Using the black Le Chiquito dustbag as a reference, there is a significant size difference between the two. The authentic dustbag for the black Le Chiquito, is small and houses the bag perfectly.

Another important detail is the font, just like the hardware it should be thick.
